Its perfectly safe. In fact you could runs 3-4 packs in a row have a break then run another 3-4 I heard one doctor on tv say that the bleeding is only there to "reassure" you. There is no egg as Angel suggests, the levels of hormone in the pill stops your body from releasing any eggs. The 7 day break is what induces the bleed. You do need to break occasionally though as there is still a small build up of lining in the womb (less that there would be for a normal pill free cycle), and the longer you wait between bleed the more will build up. This affects different people differently, so you may have break through bleeding at some point, or feel crampy or bloated. Your bleeding will be heavier too - the longer you wait. You have to work out for yourself what your body will tolerate and you can cope with. Medical Services will tell you 2 in a row is plenty - I personally had no probs running 3 or 4. Its up to you to work out what suits you best.
Good Luck ;-)

you shouldnt take the pill more then 2 strips at a time. so therefore you should not miss more than one 7 day break - technically.
i missed two 7 day breaks therefore taking 3 strips one after each other and not alot happened but i did only miss 2 breaks just the once.
you shouldnt keep taking the pill withouth breaks - you need to have a bleed each month,
if you dont want a period then consider the 3monthly injection
if it is for contraception then use condoms and have a break or consider the injection.
try not to keep missing thoese breaks you could damage your body in the long term.
Take care

I think some birth control pills are designed for people to take a break every month, some are designed for people to take a break every few months, and some might be designed for people to never take a break. So it probably depends on which pill you have. I suggest you talk to your doctor or pharmacist, or maybe call the company who makes the pill.

It is safe to do this for a couple of months, but you really should have a period every 3 months. That means only 4 a year. That person above obviously doesn't realize that oral contraception causes you to NOT release an egg. So it doesn't flush out any eggs during your period. DUH. Anyway once every 3 months is fine, it's just like Seasonale. This is what my OBGYN has me doing with my pills right now and she says it is ok and will do no harm.

According to my female doctor, a lot of people are worried that it's dangerous when in fact it's perfectly fine to take a number of packs back to back (between 4-6 I think)...ask your doctor for more advice but I wouldn't say it's harmful

i think it is healthier to have the break, because you will have a lot of stuff that should be "perioded" out, (like when u have ure period) so obviously it can't be good for that to be held up in your body for a prolonged period.

If you are taking it for medical reasons such as endometriosis it can be ok. I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

to be honest with you i think it is harmful to a certain extent. its ok to do it once or twice, but your body NEEDS to get rid of the unfertilised eggs. you should try to keep a regular cycle and make sure to take your 7 day beak every month, eventhough it is a pain in the @ss. or tummy!
