Mental toughness comes with a lot of factors, the main aspects bieng experience and an ability to understand. A lot also depends upon the mindset, I mean, come on dude, a cheerful atitude always helps in encountering all sorts of people (except the psycho ones!). Even a person, whose social life is zero, can survive in the world if he is aware of what's going on, and by that I don't mean whose paired with who! Read newspapers, checkout magzines, talk to people...
The upbringing part is also a factor, and may seriously influence the impression you leave on people, especially when you go for interviews and all, they look basically at your personality presentation. Merits do not nowdays matter that much, because even if you do not get the job, there are atleast a hundred more who are more than willing to take your place.
A sense of right and wrong does wonders for deciding on your decisions, and also gives you an outlook as to what will be its consequences. This is either comes with upbringing or can be developed by weighing the consequences of your actions.
A nice smile, cheerful attitude, good ettiquete, awareness, understanding, friendly personality and of course, the merits not only let you survive this difficult world, but also take you such a long way that the world doesn't seem so difficult anymore.... so chill out dude, its really not a big bad world.....

Posting such dogmatic advice would only appeal to those of faith or those who want to find faith.
The first step is to not care so much. When you watch the news, it helps not to get so angry about every little thing you see.
Second, realize that everything is subjective. What may seem difficult to you may seem like a walk in the park to another person. Hopefully it'll inspire you that so many people with tougher lives than you can imagine have found the strength to continue living without bitterness or cynicism.
Third, prepare yourself mentally for the challenges in the world. Know that bad things will happen, but good things will happen as well. It's a package deal.
Lastly, give yourself time to contemplate things that trouble you in life. Put them into perspective. While some things may seem horrible or tough in the moment, it may seem like nothing a week from that point.
Once you learn to do these things consistently, I'm sure life will not seem so difficult. Shrug off the bad things, and drink in the good.

If one is strong within and thinks life on a bigger scale and does not get much affected by what others say about you and has a personality .. one is strong. There are ups and downs for everyone. As long one is optimistic and has faith in one self and knows that there is some super power which takes care of you one is fine. One does not have to be mentally very tough . One has to be positive . Stress can be reduced by doing some meditation and deep breathing . World is not difficult sometimes some people make things difficult . One should always have hope in one self then difficult times go by.

1) Read. Reading provides the light that shines through the darkest of times.
2) Learn through your mistakes. Past mistakes are the necessary guides to an errorless future.
3) Help other people in distress, without expecting a return. This gives you an immense sense of pleasure. This pleasure will give you great strength.
4) Concentrate on good deeds. Remember, working through people's sorrows and sufferings help you to see the "good" part of life, and how good the world has been to you.
5) Act God in a positive fashion. Go that extra mile to be instrumental in the making of somebody else's life.
Lastly,as one of the happiest persons on earth, I would like to say, that everyone has his or her bouts of sad and difficult patches. I too have had gone through difficult times, but none could leave a dent in my happiness. Follow my guidelines, and you will get tough in due course of time. But then, always remember, that its never bad to shed a tear, as 'real men cry.'

Learn to live life as it comes. Too much expectation and disappointment if the expectations don't come true are the two things that make life difficult. Control these and you are a happy person. All that religion, faith etc are really signs of weaknesses but if it does help , why not/

First of all never let anything bother you. remember you live and die only for your self. let people, their ideas, intentions not influence you . if you ever have belief that there is a supernatural power above , respect the same and remember we are like coins on a chess board. this would make your life easy. if you only expect ,you get disappointed. so remove the word expectation from your vocabulary. remember what you deserve comes to you without asking. let the EGO not hit your head. remember E is the Ever , G - is the Growing and O is the Obstacle in your path to anything.
Thank the Almighty for each and everything...without him we do not exist.

First and foremost we must have Faith in God. In my opinion we have to do weight-lifting to get mental toughness. I am a facing a similar situation and I want to become mentally tough in order to face the world. There is no particular course to make one mentally tough. I feel that if we work out with steel weights our body will become strong and thereby our mind too will be trained to become mentally tough.

Self discipline makes you mentally strong...It is said if you want to stick to a good habit( like exercisicing for example ) do it consistently for a 21 days...the number 21 is no magic number but it is used just to keep you fixed to the work you wanted to do...
Then your body and mind will definetly get used to it and later you will make it a habit just like eating and drinking...then you will confident..and mentally strong.

Mental toughness comes from self discipline, strong will power, positive thinking and practise facing temptations without giving in. It also comes from facing your day to day problems headon and not bypassing them or sidestepping them.
