Alright. So I was at the movie theater and I found out that this book is going to be made into a movie!!! I hated that book! I was in 6th grade when I read it and it is still on the top of my least favorite books. Does anyone else dislike this book as much as me? Has anyone else even read this?

Thanks, I liked the story line and everything... but for some reason (I don't remember very well) I didn't like the way the author wrote it... hmmm, maybe I will read it again just to see if my opinions have changed since I was little.

I've read the whole sequence and I thought they were great. They tap into the vein of Celtic legend, being set in Cornwall and Wales.U should read them all. Over Sea, Under Stone, The Dark is Rising, GreenWitch, The Grey King and Silver on the Tree. I read them quite a while ago now, and I'm 57 but I have them all. (THey were published when I was 25)
Give them another chance. hope this helps.

I also liked the sequence very much. Still have them on my shelves and reread them from time to time. But I understand the film makes a lot of changes to the book, so I won't be watching it. What's the point of making a film of the book if it's not?

(I wonder if there's anyone out there who disliked the Philip Pullman trilogy, "His Dark Materials", as much as I did?)

I loved it. I'm 32 and looking to buy them for my kids. ('course I'll be reading them again, myself!)

If ya don't like em... don't read em, and don't watch the movies!
