I just finished "Curiousity Killed the Cat Sitter: The First Dixie Hemingway Mystery." Despite the cutesy title, this is an incredible dark mystery that is set in and around Sarasota, FL. Once I started it, I couldn't stop until I was finished. I listened to the audible.com version which is a nice way to "read" a book at the beach.

P.S. The second book is scheduled to come out in January. I can't wait. I'm also hoping some smart Hollywood producer will pick this up and make a movie out of it. I think Drew Barrymore would make a perfect, Dixie. (She's a producer. I hope she or her partner read Yahoo!)

Do you like mystery books?

Patricia Highsmith wrote a series of books about a man called Tom Ripley that are just terrific. Yep, the first one is "The Talented Mr. Ripley," and a movie was made about it (pretty much)...and there are several more, all in order...

Sadly we won't get any more, though, since P. Highsmith died. She knew that even the beach can start a dark course!

Or: true stories, good ones: "The Glass Castle" by Jeanette Walls, and three books by Frank McCourt. I read the McCourt books in reverse order and it made no difference; he's a great one with the Irish charm and tenacity. They're both wonderful storytellers.

Read a book that compliments your location. It then adds atmosphere when you read it. Also choose a book that is the right length for the amount of time you'll be reading it...or otherwise you'll never get to that last page. So as its a beach holiday try a beach or coastal related book.
i.e. Evil under the sun by Agatha Christie.

I know ya no potter fan, but as long as that doesnt include books with a magical element you might try a book called 'The Enchanted Chocolate Pot'. I read it first about ten years ago, its a giggle out loud book. And also to sardinia this year it's still as funny.
Its written in letters between two cousins. I'ts also written by two authors, Patricia C Wrede and Caroline Stervener, you can get it from Amazon.com and It comes two days after you order it.
I dont usually read magicy books but its very funny.

Anything by Jackie Collins or Dan Brown. The only problem they are so addictive you cant put them down! So if you just feel like a light read i would go for something like mills and boon or a magazine. That's what i do cause if i get into a book i dont want to put it down i'll spend every chance i get reading instead of enjoing the holiday!! Hope you have a great time.

Love anything by Erica James, Maeve Binchy, Cathy Kelly or Marion Keyes. My favourite book though is Touch not the Cat by Mary Stewart. Have to read it at least three times a year.

I always go with jean capri's their very comfy and form flattering if your larger on the bottom. I like loose of the shoulder tops aswell which u can layer with a snug tanktop underneath for a more form flattering fit. If your looking into bathing suits i always go with a two piece... not bikini tho the ones that cover each other. Like a halter with a skirt bottom. Really try a lot of stores. Depending on how you are to what your styles like. More important be confident in what you look like and dress up outfits with accessories Have fun on your vacation!

Janet Evanovich, any Stephanie Plum up through nine - they are hilarious!

I'm a fan of James Patterson - "The Beach House" was good.

Some of my friends are crazy about Marion Keyes - good girly beach reading :)

Have fun!

Any Romance novels Like the Mills and boons series or a Robert Ludlum book, Chalotte Bronte's books...I suppose it you would take one that relaxes you and makes you enjoy your beach stay. Have a nice read!
