A few questions, Why did mrs mccann state at the weekend, no matter even if madelline is found safe and well, that did she not want ever to return to the family home in the UK as it held so many unhappy memories there. What unhappy memories did the family home hold then what was she referring to: Why if there daughter is found safe and well why did she not want to go home to the happy secure family home in the UK that they had before they went to portugal. Mrs. McCann stated this in the interview. Surely the only unhappy place she has known is the apartment in portugal or it seems this is not the case. Kate gave something away at the weekend unwittingly and not thinking. The McCanns keep trying to portray happy families then shoot themselves in the foot. You´d think she would want nothing more than to return home with their daughter safe and well and tucked up in her own bed. But not according to the interview

I am not a detective I am quoting from the Interview Mrs McCann gave. Read it for yourself in the Mail and the News of the World and the Express on Sunday. She clearly stated she did not want to go home to the house in the UK as it held Unhappy memories there even if Madelline Was found. Read it and tell me before you attack me. I asked a valid question

Mrs McCann said she herself did not want to go back to the house in the UK even if her daughter was found alive and well as it held unhappy memories for her. What were these unhappy memories Mrs McCann had then

If Madelline was found safe and well it would be a one in a million story and the public would be happy for them No one wants to hear of a dead child there would be a street party in her home town. At the moment the town is fed up with the McCanns they have taken down all the yellow ribbons and don´t want to be associated with them. Doesnt that tell you something. When John McCarthy went missing the yellow ribbons stayed up for years. When he came home alive and well there were parties everywhere for him. No one said silly reporter should never have gone against the home office advice and travelled into a danger zone.

Sorry, could you provide a link as to where she is quoted as saying this please so I can read it.
Thanks
Edit - Please can you provide a link to exactly where you read this. I have checked News of the World and Daily Mail and cannot find this quote. Cant get on Sunday Express sight at the moment to check.
Edit - I think that you maybe mis-quoting Kate McCann. If you can provide an actual link to support what you think you have read it would be helpful but you have stirred up responses from other people on here based on a comment that may well be untrue. This is exactly how japanese whispers start. If you can provide a link to support your claim it would be great.

I think you may have a point there, if myself and my partner were ever in that position (god forbid it never happens to us) Portugal would be the last place I wanted to be. My home in the UK would feel like my only safety area. It does make you wonder what memories they have in the UK, maybe she is saying things weren't exactly brilliant between herself and Mr Mcann.
However, I don't think this is something to dwell on. They are going through a tremendous amount of stress and heartbreak. Surely the questions like, why did authorities stay in their cars and let so many vehicles drive on without being checked, all because it was raining and they didn't want to get wet? are more important to ask.
I just think there are a lot more questions that need answering before the one you asked. Hope you don't think i'm rude because as I said before you do have a valid point.
I just hope to god that poor Maddy comes home safely and soon!

What a strange thing to say. Portugal I would have thought holds all the bad memories for them cos that is where she went missing and the UK only has good family memories. They are filthy rich and that is why they are not going home. I don't trust them at all. They are hiding something big time.

Interesting. Surely Portugal is the place that holds unhappy memories for them, it may well be the place where their little girl was murdered. Their home should be Haven away from all the sadness and heartache, back with their friends and family, and a place where they can remember their daughter growing up. This is getter odder and odder.
Edit - I'm in Greece BBC World news has just said that it was blood that was found, they are now testing it to see if it was Madeleine's or not.

You are either misquoting or misinterpreting what you read, I think. And I don't think anyone has said that they read the same thing - some are taking your statement at face value without questioning it and others seem to be mistaking your mention of blood as a reference to the possible blood on the apartment wall.
I have heard her talk about feeling unable to return without Madeleine - that sounds entirely plausible to me.

she was referring to it being unhappy because it would be without madeleine as it had been such a happy house, at least that's what I read anyhow. It would be terribly hard to got back and be around memories of her that is different to if it had happened at their home. It would completley crack me up for sure, and I can understand why portugal has the most recent happy memories and she feels close to madeleine there. It's real sad.

Is it just me but hasn't anybody else thought about how awful it must be for them not knowing where their little girl is or if she is still alive? Yes they did something stupid but they are the ones who will have to live with the guilt of what they did forever. Of course things are going to be reported differently, it's the press! They edit things to create news to keep them in business! And what could she have given away unwittingly? The fact that things are a bit strained?! They have lost their daughter so that's no surprise is it!

Look around you...what do you see? Everyone & his brother & sister are slating the McCanns. Kate knows this & is naturally wary of returning home where people she knows have turned against her. Even if Madeline is found safe & well, God willing, Kate would hate for her to be surrounded by such dislike for her parents & especially to be made a spectacle of pity.
I believe thats what she meant. Of course, you can twist it to mean she has some deep dark gory secret that in some way is linked to Madeleine going missing. You're scary.
And looking at it from your perspective, what if she does have some bad memories in the UK? How does that make her guilty? Sure, it complicates things, but life is complicated.
Everyone, including you & me have bad memories of some place somewhere. Families have problems. Grow up.
Edit: Well said Toietmoi! Thanks for sharing what Kate REALLY said!

The whole story stinks. There are so many twists in it. According to my local radio news today, it stated that it is only speculation at this time about blood being found in the apartment. There is nothing evidence to say if there was or not.

As of yet it hasn't been declared that what was found was blood - let's just hope the DNA from the cup in the restaurant proves Maddie is still alive
