If you choose the large (approx 5,000 sq ft) house w/ 0.2 acres of land, you will be VERY close to next door neighbors. But if you choose the small (approx 900 sq ft) house with 5 acres of land, your house will have a great amount of land separating you from next door neighbors' houses.

a small house with lots of land..because it would be nice and cozy for yor famly..and less of a heating bill..but lots of land for the kids to play on

Well by your question I have to say large house with small land. My house IS at least 5000 Sq. feet. (It used to be a two family) And my property, oh well only a quarter acre. But I like it all so much. I live in a nice neighborhood with good neighbors.

I'd have the small house with lots of land.
It's hard to keep up with and clean the house, so I prefer a nicely -sized cozy cottage. :)
