I don't get this woman, why is she on the the front cover of these FASHION magazines looking all dolled up wearing designer labels to do an interview about her missing daughter, do the publicists think that if they get her wearing these clothes people will buy them?? or has she forgotten her focus, and where is mr mcCann on these interviews?

It's not been about Madeleine for a long time and it would make you sick! Let's face it - if having almost a £1 million quid can't find Maddie - how the hell are magazine's gonna do it? And K can say what she wants - this is the wrong type of publicity and it's sending the wrong message to other potentially neglectful parents.

Saorsie: I said yesterday why they weren't coming back to GB - there's every chance they'd get charged if they hit these shores!

This couple are doing whatever they can to get their child back. How do you know that they were paid? If they were paid, how do you know that all the money hasn't been donated to some charity or another? Also, I very much doubt that Mrs McCann went to Marie Claire and Grazie and asked them to interview her - she would have been approached by them. I'd be very surprised if she'd gone looking for it, just so she could try on some new clothes! Furthermore, she's not an expert at manipulating the press - she's no Victoria Beckham or Katie Price so do you really think she had any say in how the interview was conducted? Or even cared what she had to wear for the pictures? I suspect she was concentrating on keeping the story out there, meaning that far from "forgetting her focus" she kept it firmly in mind.

Furthermore, what earthly difference does it make which magazine they're interviewed by? And in fact, surely the whole point is to keep Maddie in the public eye and to ensure people in continental Europe don't forget to look out for her? The last time I looked, those other, less glam magazines weren't easily available on the continent (I live in France) but Marie Claire, Grazia etc have an international readership. Which would explain why the interview is there and not in "Take a Break"!

This couple have already lost a child and are probably punishing and blaming themselves more than anybody else possibly could, particularly as, as I understand it, they had their children through IVF. This means they waited much longer and went through a lot more pain and suffering before having any kids in the first place than any couple who are fortunate enough to conceive naturally. IVF is no picnic, physically or emotionally, and contrary to popular belief it doesn't always work first time, sometimes not at all (and I speak from experience here...) All children are precious, but I can't help thinking that they are even more so when you've had to fight and struggle through the nightmare of IVF treatment to have them in the first place.

As to why aren't they coming back to England; could it possibly be because their child went missing in Portugal and they want to stay as close as possible to where it happened, just in case, by some miracle she's still safe and sound nearby? Have you forgotten the story of the Austrian girl who was found years after her kidnapping not far from where she went missing? Yes it's unlikely but I know if I was them I'd be clutching at every available straw.

Would it be asking too much to lay off these people? Aren't they suffering enough? They have already paid the highest possible price for taking the irresponsible decision to leave their children alone while they went to eat, what more could you possibly want from them?

And if you're sitting there in judgement of their behaviour since Maddie went missing, saying, "well I would never have done it like that", bear in mind the pressure and stress that they are under. In all honesty, I don't think any of us can say how we would react in a situation like this, you can't possibly know unless you've been there. And if the only way to have knowledge of the "correct" way to behave in this situation is to experience it first hand then pray to whatever God you believe in that you never have to find out how it "should" be done.

I find the whole thing quite appalling - they have known a lot longer than the general public have that their little girl's blood may be over the apartment and if that is the case she is likely to be dead. What they are still doing trying to get money and do this over exposure in the media when the likelihood is she was murdered I have know idea.

Um...do you think that IF the waitress, who served the couple & little child who looked a lot like Madeleine, had read the magazine interview, seen Kate & connected that the little child she was serving a milkshake to, was the missing child in the magazine....would the magazine interview have made sense to you then? Kate obviously thinks so and so would any normal person who has a missing child's best interest at heart.

And its not about how classy the mag is, its any mag.
I'm certain if a comic book asked her to pose, she'd pose.
Shes breaking inside but will grab any ANY opportunity to spread awareness of her missing baby. Wouldn't you?
Inspite of the flak?

I hadn't heard of this, it just beggars belief. What kind of person laps up the limelight when their daughter could be lying dead somewhere? It goes from bad to worse.

It is absolutely disgusting, just lining their pockets so they can jet all over the world.

It's about time the media stopped promoting their bandwagon. They'd better not come to my part of the world!
