Lol! Good one!
But, I remember years ago the ads were banned (like cigarette ads) and for some ungodly reason, they lifted the ban on the alcohol ads.
Crazy eh?

The liquor industry adopted a strict code for advertising to avoid the specter of regulation by the government. In 1948 the alcohol industry banned hard liquor ads, and the networks also banned them. These standards began to loosen in the late 1990's when cable networks and local stations began to run the ads. During Bush's administration, the liquor industry has gotten even more bold. Apparently they don't fear government regulation anymore.

paradigm - cigarette ads were banned nearly 40 years ago, the increase in the alcohol ads is only over the last few years.

Who cares? I'd rather see those adds then adds for 9 billion new pills with 50,000+ side effects. Seriously an add for an antidepressant with side effects of anal leakage and impedance is disturbing, oh I can't get it up, and have to have a tampon in my butt, but hey I'm happy about it! Please!!!!

If you don't like the add then change the channel, problem solved.

I didnt' even know the government made alcohol, why would they pay for it's advertisments? Grow up and get a clue.

Rupert Murdoch is behind those 'public service announcements'! He's encouraging his party-faithful conservative following to drink like an elephant...
to help them forget 'their boy' got us into this mess.
