early menses or too many pregnancies or no pregnancies at all. women have sort of a fix number of eggs that they release in their lifetime if this runs out then menopause. (I read this in vogue and I'm generalizing)

Its certainly accepted that the earlier your Mother started her menopause, the earlier you will too.
