It means no one is likely to go after the Bush administration for past deeds.

Yes, fear is making us give up our civil liberties. All it takes is an assertion from the President that he needs more "tools" to fight terrorism. If he doesn't get his way, then Democrats in Congress, scratch that, then all Democrats in the US will be blamed for the next terror attack in the US.

LOL... "Have we lost our ability to rationalize?" Are you kidding me? We rationalize everything in this country- the REAL question is "Have we lost our ability to be objective?".

Too much of our politics in the US is about emotion (how does that make you feel) rather than logic (is it right or wrong) and it will blow up in our faces. The laws that are being made now generally target a specific incident or series of incidents that someone felt was unfair, but by targeting one specific thing (like race, gender, sexual orientation, etc) have created a new imbalance. If you believe that "all men are created equal" laws should be made with the same consideration and the same logic.

There are laws that support the President's ability to monitor what goes on in this country to some extent. So long as the use does not impede your ability to live your life how you choose to live it within the law and also prevents those who would do you (or others) harm through violence, why should you oppose it? I do not mean that we should grant unlimited access or power for the sake of our protection, but be reasonable.

You cannot expect someone to save you from dying using no tools whatsoever.

You lost that ablity when you had the consideration of electing a thing like Bush.

Now look at the control society that is being build from a fear, which was created by the man that designed the reason of your fear in the first place.

It is all about money.... The future you're looking towards is pretty close to a slavecamp, where everybody believes they are being protected from an outside enemy. Every time some doubt this - a terrorist attack will happen to remind people why their lives have become so crappy and why they should be happy about their government.

I hope that one day, the American people will become free from slavery.

The spy game has gone on for as long as man has existed. YOU have done it to some extent. You have eavesdropped on someone without their knowledge. Whether you have used that knowledge to your benefit or not is your personal agenda. But as far as bearing the responsibility for the safety and well being of an entire nation, you've never faced anything like that. The more pressure that you and the media place on Pres Bush, the more he and congress will push for stronger measures for your safety. Spying has proved to protect every nation who has used it. Don't become paranoid. You lead a free life

Well actually the Federal Appeals Court ruled last month that the NSA spy program did not violate the law.

So it was legal all along..

The shepherd of the fields knows what they are doing for the good of mankind.
That was "How the West was won"
Not in doing things at own whims and fancy out there.
But for the good of mankind.
That was how the spider men got it's name.
Thanks to those antiques with creaky legs who came from the cold back "From Russia with love"
They were the best out there even without the note-book in those days.

Have you lost your ability to form a coherent sentence? If you are going to make a ranting statement like this, reference to something. Believe it or not, there are people that will see this that haven't a clue as to what you are referring to.

Life has to end some time. One of the most hilarious and entertaining ways mine could end would be to see Lefties finally get their way and lay America bare to the will of Allah. I will live long enough to laugh and laugh and laugh as the extremem Lefties are the very first to be disemboweled, beheaded and dragged dead through the streets.
