You definitely need to get a lawyer, but in most states, husband and wife share rights to all property, no matter who it was gifted to. All assets and all debts are split down the middle, unless either party contests it during the divorce, then it has to go through litigation, and the judge decides. It's a big messy thing, divorce.

You should get an attorney. Typically in a divorce the woman gets the house, all the land, the cars, and part of the husband's salary for his entire life.

Did you sign a pre-nuped? If so, he or his father would have to sell the land and give you half of what it coast. I'm pretty sure this is how it goes, my mother delt with the same B.S. with my dad. She let him have the house but when he decited he couldn't keep up with the bills he had to sell it. She got half of what it coast. I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work out, but trust me on this...there are better men out there!
