Well, my question is does the quality of life improve? I mean, COME ON! Everywhere I look, people are becoming friends with other people on the internet, becoming close while I can't even maintain a friend, let alone find one! I find myself crying myself to sleep, hoping for something better, and all the while realising exactly how little it will improve. I am gay, 14, entering high school in Chicago, and i am terrified! I dont think that I am ready, I dont think I will be able to make friends, since believe me, here EVERYONE is good, or at least decent at sports. I can't even throw a ball.
I find myself with few happy memories, and not nostalgic but simply depressed to the point of seriously contemplating suicide. I grow colder and weary of people, and I just can't stop this change anymore!
I find myself waking up and praying that it is still night, that I can just retrn to sleep. But that is never the case.
I apologise for making you read this, but does life get better, reader?

Relax kid...you're 14!!!
Who cares if you can't throw a ball?! There are good people in this world. high school is not supposed to be scary. I'm in my third year in high school...and I find it fun.
And don't use your sexuality as an excuse to have a horrible life! My best friend (male) is gay and I love him to death! Hang out with people who except you for who you are and who can show you a good time.
Hell, my freshman year I was depressed like you wouldn't believe! It got better. I got on medication, counseling, I don't need that anymore...
Look up. Life shouldn't be about ending it. And think of it this way: suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. It's not worth it. You have a whole life a head of you.
If you want someone to talk to, email me. I'm a very good talker and listener. And I'm not much older than you so I can probably relate. And I'll be online for a few hours tonight...
Good luck!
-Sara
Cheer up.

Yes, life does get better. The sadness and problems do not last forever, they will go away. I think you need to loosen up and be more confident of yourself. Go out there and socialize with people, but be yourself. I think you are just in a growing stage. Being gay is normal and people will accept you for your personality. As for the sports, if it's not your thing, you don't have to be like everyone else. Join clubs and get involved instead. Don't think too much of what's going to happen the next day when you sleep, just relax. Life gets better!

Yes, high school kids sucks! Hopefully they will look past your sexual preference, but kids are kids and they like to bully and make fun of others who are different because they are ignorant. But once you get out of high school, college is even better. I have a lot of gay friends, and many of them didn't come out until after high school because kids were so mean. You'll make a friend, I still have the same fears as you when I go to a new class, school, or job. Good luck and it'll be fine! You're there to learn anyways (as my father would say).

I hear distinctive languages everywhere i bypass. If the commonly used public had to verify each and every of different dialects spoken there could be genuine chaos. It discriminates against English speaking people. there isn't one reliable reason to make Spanish extra important than the different language. English is the language right here and all individuals could talk our language. the only law we want is to make getting to understand English area of citizenship. i'm ill of law that would enable a 2nd language.

Same problem as you about life is horrible, but think about it, it isn't always and something has to change. Maybe people where you live are good at sports and maybe that doesn't matter to them like it does to you. And if you need a friend try talking to somebody else who looks like they need one. Life can get better, trust me- recap of this year, brother in car accident, robber breaks into house with me in it, friend passes away.
So from my point of view life is already better just because it's normal, and when you think about it that way it doesn't really matter what normal is.

Life only gets better when you get off your butt, take responsibility for your life, set goals and work to achieve them. Friends aren't going to come knock on your door, you have to join clubs/find hobbies that will bring you into contact with people like you that you may one day call friend.

Alex, I hate to break it to you but....
Life is tedious, with short interruptions happiness, which makes it all worth it.
Mostly things just get easier to accept as you get older, not necessarily better. So...the sooner you learn to accept yourself and others, the better off you'll be, and before you know it things will just seem to be better.
