I'm a scizophrenic by the way and sometimes I sing to the voices just as a fun way of telling them to get f****. I already am on medication have been for a year and still hear these voices telling me to get a band and become a singer. So do you think that I should or just go about life living normally working with all these stupid voices in my head?

LOL... Your saner than most singers I've worked with in bands. Why not give it a try? Just pick a band/group of musicians not into drugs. Any drugs can exacerbate your condition, even 2nd hand smoke from weed can trigger events for you. So make sure they are drug free. Other than that sing away. Might actually reduce the need for medication. The first singer for Pink Floyd was also afflicted with serious mental illness but he was able to perform for many years with the band. There have been alot of singers that really make you wonder given their lyrics :) So you may have good company as a singer.

The Smiths. 1. No order. The Queen Is Dead That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore These Things Take Time A Rush And A Push And The Land Is Ours Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before ... uh there's more but I can't think. Those probably aren't even my top favorites, just the ones I can think of right now. I'm too lazy to dig around itunes to see my ratings. 2. The Queen Is Dead (pretty good mix of songs), The Smiths (a different sound from the later albums, I love it), Strangeways, Here We Come (last album, also pretty awesome) 3. Nope. They broke up before I was born sadly! 4. I have NEVER heard The Smiths on the radio. Disappointing, really. Um, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out is a pretty song, really, but I don't think it's awesome enough to get all the love it gets (it's a LOT of people's #1 favorite apparently). 5. Their self-titled needs more love. D: 6. THE VOICE. The vooooice. Morrissey has the best voice ever. D8 Lyrically I love a lot of the songs, and a lot are fun to sing along to. And a lot of them have awesome guitar work and stuff, but seriously the voiiiiice. 7. I found out about them late October of last year and have loved them ever since. O: Also the fact that you picked the Cure makes me very very happy. I've been trying to get into them for a while but I haven't had a chance to listen to much yet.

The thing I want to know, is how good are the voices in your head at giving you advice? If 90% of what they say turns out to be correct, and they can be relied on, then why not follow them and find out whether singing is the right path for you.

BTW - you have an OFF knob for the voices. I don't know quite where it's located, whether it's a dial or a slider, but I do know that when you get sick of the voices you can turn it down to 0 and shut them up.

. Since you already know you're a bit psycho and your brain cells are just banging together to make those 'voices', why not give it a try?
As long as you do NOT hurt anybody, go with those dreams IF you think it's possible. If the voices told you to fly, that's something you know you can NOT do. But a band singer, why not? .

That sucks. :( Well, follow whatever career you think is right for you but it helps to maybe get some other people's opinions on your singing and instrument playing. If you have talent then definitely go for that and do some work on the side but if not then decide on something else.
There's plenty of other jobs out there for entertainers if you just like singing in general.
But it's up to you. Good luck.

Maybe the voices in your head are part of you. If you want to be in a band then be in one but it all depends on what you want to do!

If the voices tell you to get naked at the airport, ignore them.
