President Bush has hinted at times that we will need to be there for that long, if not longer? If you had known that we would be in there this long before the war started, would you still wanted to go to war in Iraq? Do you think it is a good idea to keep our soldiers there for 20 more years?

What are we trying to take over the world? Is this what America should be doing? Is this what our forefathers had in mind?
The Founding Fathers warned against entangling alliances. Jefferson and Washington made the point loudly and clearly. When countries tie themselves together in mutual defense pacts and alliances, they end up participating in foolish wars out of diplomatic obligation, rather than limiting themselves to legitimate self-defense. One or two belligerents, so long as they are popular with enough other countries, can transform a regional squabble or a petty conflict into a global holocaust. This is, of course, what happened in World War I.

He stated at the start of this mess that we would probably be there for a long time. We still have servicemen in Japan, you know.

As long as any leader of political parties in Washington DC thinks first at his Masonry engagement and at his own revenue, instead of thinking at the future of those that gave them their votes and trust, the situation will be unchanged.
The US can be transformed in a great fortress instead of fighting God knows where and for what reasons. The territorial defense is lousy and there are many other things to do at home...
Democracy was the way that the Forefathers intended to be used in USA till the end of times...those that don't understand this are welcomed to go elsewhere (maybe they like better the Russian way).

i could say that it potential Barrack Obama has regarding the comparable loss of judgment Madeleine Albright had while she went to North Korea, praised the North Korean government for being so open, receptive, and hospitable to the U.S. Clinton administration, then only some years later, we study they have been arising nuclear missiles on the time. no longer understanding somebody properly in church must be missed, if it wasn't the Church Pastor of two decades. despite the fact that, the element is, no longer expertise the reasons of alternative leaders, and having very undesirable judgment in analyzing persons, must be devastating as a President! Because of Iranian influence in the area, we will be there for a really long time. I think we will be playing a support and training role there, but to do that we need around 75000 troops there. The bases we are building there are not like tent cities. They are permenant structures meant to last a long time. We wouldn't do that if we weren't going to be there a really long time.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have a "presence" in Iraq for a long time, but that is hardly surprising. We still have bases in Germany and Japan for crying-out-loud...and that war was 60 years ago!

We still have troops stationed in Germany, and Japan and WW2 was over 60 years ago. You can rest assured that even if we pulled most troops out of Iraq tomorrow we will still have troops there 60 years from now. That's just the way it is.

is this a serious question??? lmfao....given the same logic. do you think those that support the cowardice and surrender of harry reid ought to be responsible for cleaning up the attack al qaeda has here when we bury our heads in the sand. why ask questions most sane and sober people already know the obvious answer for?
