try lubricating the tip of the tampon with a little vaseline - it should go a little easier... and MOST importantly, try to remember to BREATHE, and RELAX. The first time I tried using a tampon was when I was about 11, and I passed out and hit my head on the tub because I forgot to breathe.
GEEEEZ, talk about embarassing! X)
Good luck, and RELAX. This stuff gets easier, I promise.

Sweetie, this doesn't hurt. Hold the tampon where there are grooves, where the two pieces come together. Slide the tampon inside of you until your fingers touch yourself. Then push the part that is sticking out of you into the part that is inside. Then remove the entire thing. Do not remove the tampon until it is "full" because if you remove it dry it hurts. It doesn't hurt at all if it isn't dry. There is nothing to break. You just need to get the hang of it. I suggest wearing a panty liner also, because you can still leak a little.

playtex gentle glide are the best tampons.
you shouldnt be able to break your hyman with a tampon
playtex offers a video for teenagers who wish to use tampons. if that doesnt work, and you are having panic attacks, stick to pads.

Instead of pointing the tampon up, aim it toward the back. Wiggle it around to see where it'll fit, if you have to.
Your hymen won't break unless you force the tampon in. Good luck!

If you do exercise your hymen is probably already broken. If not, you also don't need to worry about it hurting - it won't. Just take you time and take lots of deep breaths (breath in through the nose, out through the mouth!). You'll get the hang of it soon enough!

Firstly, a tampon is unlikely to break your hymen. Secondly, you'd probably not feel it if it did!! Relaxation is the key here - you could try Tampax which have an applicator which is easier to use.

I hate tampons! Who ever decided sticking two inches of wadding up your vagina must have been a man with a very very cruel sense of humor.
I get anxious too. It's seriously gross. make sure you are inserting it, at most, at a 45 degree angle. Crouch, and pull apart the flaps of skin around the openning with your fingers.
If you are really having problems, you could try using a mirror.
It takes practice and courage. hope you get it.
