After 911, I was shocked to see Pakistan let us bomvb the hell out of Afghanistan, from their country. Do you think Afghanistan will forget about this? Will they hold a grudge?

The United States has been the "policemen" of the world for many years now. It seems like whenever someone doesn't like someone else and they start shooting, we have to send in our young people to dispel the violence. Then of course we have the "Naysayers" of the world that don't like it. There the ones that hide under their desks with their little "notebooks " and write nasty little articles about it but, they have no idea on how to really stop it.

If we leave a country to it's own, we'll be condemned, when we go in and bring some kind of control, we get condemned. It doesn't matter what we do, we won't win.
Hundreds if not thousands of our own people get killed or maimed, that's O.K. as long as it's not "innocent civilians" or those not actually found with weapons.

It's a catch-22 situation for us. We need the bases to get into certain areas fast, to contain terrorists as fast as possible, like Haiti, Granada, Panama, etc that's all O.K. but, when something goes wrong, all the "Naysayers" and gossip mongers jump into it.

Does it matter? Look at the military superiority of one country to the other. Even if the Afghani people do hold a grudge, what are they gonna do? cry?

I doubt it, once we pull out, we'll take most of our technology with us. And I'm sure we've built one or two bases in Afghanistan (or at least financed one or two of theirs) so there will be no strategic advantage left for one or the other.

Why not? They want a piece of the pie too.
