I've been dancing for a really long time! I really want to go competitive but its to expensive. My parents don't seem to understand me... If they knew that I would give anything to dance...! But i've told them before and they still don't take me seriously! What should I do?

some parents dont see things the way their kids do,i would suggest that you just show them that your not going to stop.look into you local dance studio's some of them MIGHT offer danceing compatively.

well I think you have to do it anyway if its what you truly want. my parent's don't take me seriously either and that's what I do. Just get a job or do surveys on-line etc. to make money and follow your dreams. Or else you will just end up regretting it and hating your parents. And they can see how much you want it if you go and make money for yourself and they will probably give in. If it's meant to be, it will be as they say so just take the first step and hopefully things will fall into place.

aww i'm soo sorry for your situation. maybe if you calmly talk to your parents and explain how much you love dance and how good it makes you feel. maybe you could even get your instructor to talk to them. and if they still don't let you compete, remember that although competing can be fun it is sooo stressful. i usually end up crying a couple times at every competition.

try and make a deal with your parents...start out with just one competition. if you do well in it and place, they might understand.
