I see no reason why anyone would like him to be our President.
Here are my reasonings:
1. (Not to be racist) He's black and therefore, political correct pressure is not directed heavily at him. He will possibly be biased to his own race, where as a white man cannot.
2. He's a Buddhist in a Christian dominated country. His beliefs are totally different than the majority of America's.
3. Is it just me, or is there something suspicious about him? Every time I see him or hear him speak, I can't help but feel and untrustworthy vibe coming from him.
4. He's a democrat and look what happened to the last democrat president we had (I know that's not a very good argument because look at President Bush. But he didn't get impeached and he didn't go fooling around with ugly women).
Please give me a few reasons why you like him. This is a legitimate question and I'm not judging. I just want to know why people think he's so desirable because I don't see anything desirable about him.

EDIT:
St. Bastard
What I mean by a black man can be biased but a white man cannot is the whole political correct thing. Black people can have all-black colleges/universities and all-black clubs, etc. If a white person did anything like that, they would be called racist, sued, and/or put in jail.

I believe many of the things he believes in!!
http://www.barackobama.com/issues
I am hoping he is stronger on redefining NAFTA and globalization to bring manufacturing back to the U.S.
I think totally ending it would be awesome but I do realize we have probably gone past the point of no return!
EDIT:xenypoo--what did he lie about?

After reading your four points I've decided that you're either bigoted or ignorant or both.
1. A black man can be biased but a white man cannot? That's the mentality of a RACIST.
2. He is Buddhist? NEWS FLASH: No he's not. He's Christian. Furthermore the USA is not a Christian country. There is something known as freedom of religion and separation of church and state. You should look them up.
3. You can't help but not trust him when he speaks? Hmm sounds like bigotry to me.
4. Fooling around with women does not affect the running of the country. It was a private matter. Wrap that around your head. Last time we had a Democrat, we had a budget surplus and the country was in great shape. Last time we had a Democrat for president, we weren't paying $3.50 for a gallon of gas, we didn't get sucked into Vietnam 2 and we didn't lose civil liberties for 7 years in the name of terrorism. Oh and don't speak too soon. Bush didn't get impeached, but it's a GOOD possibility that he will along with the VP and AG.
I didn't answer your question though. Barack Obama is a 1) good speaker, 2) good at motivating people and 3) has a better direction for the country than the one we are going in now.
You need to do some research and not follow those "untrustworthy vibes" you are getting.
PS. His name is Barack not Barrack.

Actually he's half white. His mom is Irish. Possibly he should spell his name O'Bama. I just don't think race is his big thing...for at least the last 30 years it's been more about 'culture' than color anyway. Obama is an educated middle-class guy with almost no real political, religious or racial issues. He belongs to a mainline christian church...he's not a muslim or a buddhist. Except for a really small number of people most people don't really care about religion anyway...they care about external conduct and Obama has been 'cleaner' than a whale of a lot regular citizens. In a way he's sort of a non-blue collar 'everyman'. Let's be real..the reactionaries of the current GOP have been trying to swift-boat this guy from day one. They've done a pretty good job on both Clintons, but they've had years to do it. Obama has few real negatives...his politics are center, his grasp of reality is realistic and he does connect with people. If not for the ravings of the right wing talk show nitwits and the 'Save the Stem Cells Jesus Freaks' I doubt if hardly anyone would seriously object to this guy being the president. He has my vote!

Ron Paul Ron Paul gets his 13-25 % from greater often than not independents, how many human beings have you ever heard say something yet obama? If Ron Paul gets the gop nomination theres a good number of persons who will vote for him only using fact he's honesty and because he's not Obama. I vote for him using fact it extremely is vote i might properly be happy with. while i'm on my death mattress i would be proud to appreciate I voted for a competent individual, a trouble-free individual and somebody that could continually look after the form and liberty.

I don't like him that much.
He doesn't have any foreign policy at all. He would be biased to black people. And for the record, he's not Buddhist. He is supposedly Christian, although he grew up in Indonesia at a Muslim radical school, which is a red flag right there.
I do, however like the fact that he was ballsy enough to straight up say that since the majority of Al-Qaeda is in Pakistan, that he would go there whether Musharraf agreed or not.

1) He's part white and part black. Why do you assume just because he's half black he'll be biased to his own race? Would you say the same thing about white candidate?
2) He's not a buddist. He's a christian. Been so for years.
3) That's because you're a Republican.
4) Better to lie about a ******* then a war. The blown up personal scandals were nothing to the huge scandals and failures that Bush has gone through.

1. a failed argument, that can only be perpetuated by racial bias. He is my senator, and has shown no preferential treatment based on race.
2. Buddhist morals are very similar to Christian morals, probably resulting from similar mythological stories within the two religions. Another bad argument. And besides, he's a Christian, not Buddhist.

3. Suspicion is irrelevant, and your tone slightly slanderous in nature. He has acted in no way, that has suggested anything other than genuine concern about doing his job to his country and is constituents. The reason he probably appears untrustworthy to you, is because you haven't done any research on him, and he speaks what is really on his mind, compared to people who have been politicians far too long, and have been corrupted by only caring about the politics.
4. now we start to see the real truth of your argument starting to come out. JFYI in my state, he appeals to republicans and democrats alike.
Reason why I like him:
1) He show a genuine concern for his constituents, and offers them a chance to voice their concerns, in person, during Constitutional breakfasts.
2) If you contact him about an issue, you generally get a response. The response has been much slower lately, but understandable with the campaign and his job and all.
3) When he responds, you get more than just double-talk and talking you in circles. You know exactly where he stands.
4) His national healthcare plan involves utilizing economical factors to provide healthcare to all Americans, rather than a socilaized method of higher taxes and to give a welfare system of medical coverage to everyone. His approach makes sense, and will save money on welfare medical coverage, promote the economy by providing tax incentives, and promote portability which in-turn promotes quality.
http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/HealthPlanFull.pdf
5) he wants to go after the real culprits behind 9/11
6) wants to secure our borders and reduce illegal immigration
7)wants to remove incentives for immigrants to enter illegally.
8) wants to clean up government waste and empower citizens to be able to do their part by promoting a more open government, and by making earmarks and pet projects more known to the public.
Personally, I think Obama and Ron Paul, would make an awesome team to run the executive office of the United States.

Let's imagine the possibility that a Democrat will be elected to the White House in 2008. Obama is currently #2 on the Democratic ticket. Can America really endure another Clinton?

You're not a racist, you just want to know why some people are dumb enough to like a liar. I don't like Obama one bit. Could you tell?
Kelly B: Obama has said he is a Catholic, and not a Muslim. That is a lie. In the history of his life, he spent a total of 2 years in a Catholic school at a young age. He is actually a Muslim. His father, now dead was a Muslim, and his step-father, who still lives, and is a big influence on Obama for most of his life, is a RADICAL Muslim. His mother, who once was a Catholic, but now passed on, is NO influence on Obama. Read the information given to you free maddam, and you would already know this.
