ok, first if you have had the dsl and the internet for about a year or half a year you should probable turn your modem off and then on, it usually works for me the is a black button on the left side of the back of the modem, if that does not work try to refresh your connection and if that doesnt work, then try to restart the computer and do the steps ive listed above and if that doesnt work then all i can say is that you should call for support, because i dont want to get in with the control panel and connections it will take too long, sorry.

If you have a router, make sure no one has setup internet limitations (such as scheduled use - like having internet work between 8pm-11pm for example. Most likely no one has- but if you think it may be a possibility check it out.
But call you ISP. The problem may be on their end.

I suspect that you have someone "camping out" on your connection. Are you wireless?
Call the company that provides your DSL and explain the situation. They'll send out a tech to see if someone is stealing your connection.

DSL modems go bad (bad modem.. SMACK). I had this problem last year. I replaced my modem and live was good (SMACK the modem uspide its head). Modems, routers, and such go bad after years. Sometimes they go intermittent. Why? Because the on/off of the chips goes bad slowly.
Replace the modem.

sounds like it is your router, no longer your modem/internet service. in case you may, plug the Ethernet cable quickly into the laptop(no longer making use of the router). If it works for, then ti's your router, get a sparkling one.

Have you tried telling your service provider about your problems? It's their job to fix it.
