Which do you want to keep him as, a banker or boyfriend?

I hear these horror stories all of the time. Things happen and $5000 is a lot of money. Sure we all wish life was perfect, but this can create all sorts of problems.

Also, if your boyfriend is willing to loan out 5K, you need to question his financial sense. He needs to put that money to work.

Take out the loan. Pay the interest. Build your credit. If you need and excuse not to take his money, that is a good one.

But DO NOT take his $5k. I don't know a relationship counselor or financial advisor who would think its a good idea.

It is a lot of money to borrow from a friend. If you are both over 25 and have been a couple for several years then I would if not borrow from a bank.

it depends on how close you two are but generally I'd say it's NOT a good idea to borrow from him. If you have any problems paying it back it can create a lot of bad feelings.

Only if you have a contract drawn up and signed by both of you. Also make sure you always pay him by check--never cash, this way in the event your relationship goes sour, you are both protected.

Don't mix business with someone close, it seldom ends good.
