Sounds more like a surname than a first name.

Jacoby is a great name. Its origin is Jacob and that is Hebrew for Supplanter.

To define Supplanter is difficult but I believe it is the synonym for successor or understudy. So basically Jacoby could mean "the next in line" hence successor or understudy.

Hope that helps. Great name choice though, I really like it.

i think i like Jacob better. jacoby sound cute for a lil baby, but once the baby gets older the name doesnt really fit. So i think Jacob is better and Jacoby can be a nickname.

the thing that you have to think about when naming child is how will the name stick. Like would you like to have the name Lilly, and then be an adult with that name (i have nothing against the name, but it is more of a little kid name). Over all i think that the name is cute, but nothing i would want to be called as an adult. That might be one of those names that the kid goes buy his middle name, because i do not think that he will like it when he is older.

It's kinda weird at first but i like it. The spelling, i'm not so crazy about. Jakobe iz a bit more boyish looking & "Jake" or "Kobe" could be nick names if he doesn't like it during certain ages like..in middle school. I really like it spelled with something other than a "Y" an the end. Go with it, it rox!

I personally don't like the name. Sorry.
Couldn't find the meaning of the name but I did try. They all kept referring me to "Jacob"

I absolutely love it, love it, love it. If he doesn't like when he's older, he can always shorten to Jacob, or Jake, or Coby. It is not a name he would have to share with ten other kids in his class. Rare, but not to be mispronounced-- by most anyway. I say go for it.
