IUI is intra uterine insemination, and IVF is in vitro fertilization.
IVF is very expensive in the US, around $18,000. IUIs are much cheaper, less than $1000, even with the blood tests and ultrasounds that you need to have that will help to figure out the best timing for the procedure.
I have been through both. I tried 5 IUIs that did not work, and had one successful IVF procedure.
To be brief, IUIs involve the placement of semen in the uterus. The sperm then need to travel up the tubes and fertilize the egg. With IVF, the fertilization is done by embryologists outside of the woman's body. Eggs need to be retrieved from the woman's body (after a lot of injectible drugs), fertilized in dishes, and then the surviving embryos are placed in the uterus by the doctor. So, the procedures are very different.
You really need to see a reproductive endocrinologist. He/she will be able to let you know what step(s) you should take next.

IVF is invitro fertilization which is when sperm form your partner and your eggs are fertilized outside of your body in a sterile lab, and then the embryo is transferred back into your uterus where the hope is it will implant and result in a pregnancy. It can be expspensive but it depends on where you live. It is an emotional rollercoaster ride but worth it if you get the pregnancy and child you always wanted.
I believe IUI is interuterin insemination, i dont really have much experience in this though.
What treatments you need will depend on what your fertility prblems actually are.
Hope i helped.

IUI, inrta uterune insemination. The dr inserts a catheter into the uterus and injects the sperm. Its generally for couples when the man has a low sperm count an d they need to concentrate them in the lab.
IVF, in vitro fertilization. Sperm and egg are mixed in a petri dihs and any embryos that develop are implanted in the uterus. This is a very compex process, and very expensive

hi Dave, The scientific coverage that I easily have by means of my corporation does no longer many times conceal infertility remedies, despite the fact that, they have specific tiers for a small develop in top classification. on the appropriate point (which I pay approximately 30 dollars greater desirable according to month for) they have a $3,000 lifetime optimum that could pay for the remedies only (no longer the medicine or something, only the iui technique.). it extremely is my 4th iui and the coverage employer only reimburses me after every time, and could proceed to take action till I attain my optimum shrink. So, it extremely is beneficial to examine and notice if the employer gives you a life-time optimum earnings extremely of asking them if infertility remedies are coated or no longer. wish that facilitates, Brittney
