I believe it to be important. My friend is currently looking at his options in the Dayton, Ohio area.
University of Dayton is very expensive and not ranked as highly as the lesser expensive Ohio State or Univ. of Cinci!
I hear that colleges want prestige and desire people who may someday be famous and make their college look good. I would go with a college that is economical while still providing a good solid backing name.

First of all, look at Bar passage rates at ABA-accredited law schools vs. the others. The difference is huge. Then, if you limit yourself to ABA-accredited schools, look at the credentials at the managing partners at major law firms. Very few come from lesser law schools, and they tend to come from very prestigious schools.

Lawyers suck. There's already too many of them in the world. and all they want is to fatten their pockets at the taxpayers' expense. Get a real job. Even Taco Bell is more respectable.
