They don't make me nervous but my Mom really hates them. She does not want to even go near them. She will shop at other stores to avoid them? Me I just don't want my shoe laces or jeans to get sucked in!

As a kid raised on a farm way back in the sticks, my greatest thrill was to go into Twin Falls (..the biggest town within 100 miles..) and ride the escalators in the department store. The hard part was going up the down, or down the up : D

Not usually. However, I went to Austin a couple weeks ago for a seminar and their convention center has the escalators set on warp speed. Quite unnerving.

No... although sometimes I think a down escalator might stop abruptly and send me flying.

They used to when I was a little kid, but not anymore. I used to like elevators, but now they make me sick when they move too fast, like going to the bottom floor when it still feels like your stomach is on the first floor. Or when you think about how the cable could be cut or you could get trapped in the elevator!

No, but I did actually get my jeans leg caught in one once as throngs of people were leaving a stadium. My dad had to yank me out so I wouldn't get trampled.

A little. I always wait for the "right moment" to get on them, haha. And then I prepare myself when I have to get off, hah. Too many accidents on those damn things ;)

YES cause i got a shoe string hung in one once. it was scary but i got it out before we got to the top. i had enough common sense to take my shoe off. oh and then there was the mysterious accident on mallrats... that always kinda worried me.
