The pay is 8 to 10 times what it is here and it would only be for a year. It is also in a secured area for a private contractor.

May I remind you there is no such thing as a secure area in Iraq.

I understand you dilemma. More money is always a good thing and it necessary to live. However gaining at the risk of your live may not be wise. Like I said, if you know you can handle really tough situations or have handled such situations before, and know you can do it (I did not say think you can, know. That is two different things.) then go for it. If you never had to deal with such problems, I suggest not risking it.

Another word advice: If you have family and children,. do not go for their sake. If you lack such ties, then it is a good oppurtunity to think about before accepting the contract. Use your best judgement on this.

The fact you are asking this question shows you doubt you could deal with being in a warzone. If you doubt, it means you are not sure you can handle it.

Everbody has SOME skill. Apply with Haliburton coz they own Iraq as per jobs like rebuilding and all the way up to paid guns.

There is no secure area. Rockets don't discriminate between civilian contractors and military. Fact!

no no i would not. i would rather live here with the actual security that i am not going to be shot at or kidnapped and have my head chopped off and shown on the internet so my family could watch or read about or see on the news. nope, i'll stick it out here and make my money the slow sure way. yep thats what i'd do. ah mister, if its so secure why are they offering you so much money? hmmmm i wonder.

I would not. If you do, see what the employer's policy is in the case of injury or death.

I saw a story about a truck driver who worked for Haliburton. His convoy was ambushed and he got shot (not killed like the others). When he got back to the states, Haliburton fired him for getting hurt on the job. If you do it, please be careful!
