Depending on how an artist decides to sing it - faster or slower, and on how the band plays it - it can be Rumba or Cha-Cha. The original Sway by Dean Martin is Rumba I believe, but you can dance Cha Cha to it. The one by PCDs is most often a Cha Cha.

Salsa or Ceroc - "Sway has slow and fast bits" - you could Tango but it's not really got that Tango feel.

actually, 'Sway' was created for the rhumba, but in my dance classes, we use it for both the rhumba and the cha-cha..if you listen to the song carefully you'll here the singer sing 'rhumba rhumba rhythm start to play, dance with me, make me sway'...
