Please HELP, I'd LOVE 2 see this video.

PS: This is REAL, not a fake question, it really happen, so help me out.

There was an impactor shot into a body, (an asteroid IIRC), as an experement.
It did not, by any stretch of the imagination, destroy the object in question.

Mankind has never attempted to destroy a comet. The Deep Impact mission slammed a small impactor into the nucleus of comet Tempel 1 back in 2005. The intent was not to destroy the comet, but to learn about its properties by studying the results of the impact.

You're thinking of the Deep Impact mission. They hit a comet (Tempel I) with an impactor to attempt to see what it was made of. You can see images from the mission here: http://deepimpact.jpl.nasa.gov/index.cfm

NASA hopes to send the Stardust spacecraft to Tempel I to observe the crater made by the impactor. The impact raised so much dust that Deep Impact was unable to see the crater in the limited time it was in contact with the comet.

Don't know where you're comin' from, but nobody has ever destroyed a comet. The USA sent a small probe crashing into a distant asteroid awhile back, but even then the asteroid wasn't destroyed.
