With the advent of LBJ's Great Society in 1964, our taxes went through the roof with federal programs to help the poor and underprivileged; 12 trillion dollars have been spent. They have had 43 friggin years to fix the problems. They've abviously failed because we still have the same problems today, and some are worse. Why on earth would anyone support the Democrat agenda of continuing this obviously flawed approach? How could more tax money solve this problem?

Isn't it wiser to let people decide how best to spend their own money?

The number one problem with helping the poor through programs like welfare is that by providing free money to people, it does not give them any incentive to better themselves. More and more people become dependent on the government. As the number of people dependent on the government grows, the government gains power. If the poor go against the people who provide the welfare where will they get their money? The problem has since snowballed out of control, and the government hides the control they have over the poor under a facade of mercy and charity. As long as people want to feel good about themselves, they are not going to get rid of welfare programs because those of us who see the flaws are "heartless" and immoral.

I'm not a dumbocrate I just want to make additional comment.
Lowering taxes increased Government revenue.
Raising taxes will cost jobs and reduce revenue.
Why do the dumbocrates want to raise taxes for it doesnt make cents?
