I've been searching for new and fun games recently and I just don't know which games to buy for the ps2. I'm not really into adventure, sports or racing (some) games. I'm more into fighting. People have suggested I try God of War ( kind of skeptical about it ), Final Fantasy ( I don't seem to enjoy it very well ), GTA ( maybe for the PC but not for PS2 ), and Gran Turismo A-Spec. As far as fighting games go, I think I already have all the fun games I like ( Soul Calibur Series, Tekken, Bloody Roar, WWE, you name it... )
Any suggestions for fun ps2 games? ( NO Katamari Damacy.. please :D)

Try the Ratchet and Clank series for fun or Hitman series for classic killing

I can see you dislike Final Fantasy, that'll make it tough for me to give you some game choices but I'll try my best to help you out. Here are a few from my own collection:
Metal Gear Solid 2 or 3 are great fun games. If you're new to the series I suggest to play MGS2 first as its easier and has a radar. The game is quick and fun, though I suppose you might get bored with the long cutscenes... but you can skip those anyway. Both games are great.
Zone of the Enders 1 or 2, both games are super fast paced action with robots in space. Awesome visuals for it's time, great story, and best of all it's another Kojima production like MGS.
Dynasty Warriors 5 is definitely a great action game that's simple to get into and a great starter for someone not familiar to the series. However, this one might not be as appealing to you if you don't dig ancient Chinese warfare and mayhem. Take a look, you might like it. Also, Samurai Warriors which is set in Japan or wait for Warriors Orochi, which will be out in September and features a cast from both Samurai/Dynasty Warriors and a fictional storyline regarding demons from another plane.
Definitely Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, despite it's Disney roots and Final Fantasy Fandom, both games are stellar and fun with great action and fighting. Totally worth it even if you don't care for the characters.
Resident Evil Code Veronica, the only Resident Evil worth playing on the PS2. I personally dislike Resident Evil 4; however, you might like it for it's very active, action-packed (over horror) nature.
And I really do invite you to play some RPGs. They are really worth the time, money, and effort to play. Final Fantasy X is truly a masterpiece and the upcoming Persona 3 is interesting.

in case you have WiFi, we would desire to continually conflict on Luminous Arc 2. Kirby large celeb extremely is relaxing for the DS. Ever attempt any of the devil might Cry video games for PS2? possibly X-adult men Legends? and that i'm no longer a good number of a working laptop or laptop gamer yet I heard Guild Wars is enormously conventional.

If you like fighting games like me, you must try DOA: Hardcore.
"Dead or Alive: Hardcore. Its very challenging and lots of fun. There is also a very good game, even though its pretty old, but worth the purchase since its a collectible called, "JOJO'S Bizzare Adventure. An awesome game, and full of fighting spirit and special attacks.
All the Devil May Cry games on the PS-2 are very good and cool, highly recommended. As well as DARKWATCH.

If you like action games, try God of War. The sequel (God of War 2) is even better than the original. It has an incredible storyline (all about Greek Mythology), the fighting is fluid and easy to get the hang of, and it's just plain fun! I highly recommend it.
