I'm 23, & my 16-yr. old step-niece asked me to take a picture of her wearing a shirt with her belly showing. Is this wrong? I see plenty of teens with their bellies showing. I thought it was the new fashion trend or style. My sister got mad & went off on me & threatened to sue me for soft child porn. Do you think she blew th situation out of proportion? I had no wrong intentions. & my step-niece ASKED me to take a pic showing her belly. Could I go to jail for this?

She blew it way out of proportion! You shouldn't go to jail for it! It was just an innocent picture. It's not like she was posing topless with a thong on! Hopefully, your sister will calm down and have a better outlook on the situation. She should take the time to understand what's really going on.

no, the stomach is not considered pornographic, as long as she was clotherd elsewhere on her body. If this were true, Many major retailers would find themselves in jail for ads in print that show the very same thing. tell your sister to grow up, and be a parent. She obviously has no problem with the child wearing the shirt, only being photographed in it.

My question is... who bought her this half shirt anyway? Probably her mother!!! No. It is not soft porn and there was nothing wrong with taking her picture. It's not like you did it with intentions of selling it to some sicko online! Your sister is wrong on this one. She's your NIECE for crying out loud!!!

You cannot unless you are taking the picture and focusing on the genitals or chest. Your sister's problem should have been that her child wants to wear clothes like that, not that you took the picture. I hate when people send anger the wrong way.

No, you couldn't go to jail for it because it isn't a criminal matter. But if you persist in taking pictures of a child against the wish of her legal guardian, she can file a civil suit and get a restraining order to force you to stop doing it. That's about all.

it depends on a few things. The human form is very artistic and has been (always will be) the subject of many delightful and artistic photographs and paintings. However you always must determine if the imagery is contrived solely for the purpose of eliciting sexuality or artistry. By this i mean is the image sexually charged only for the sake of being controversial , or for the sake of being art? What is the "INTENT" of the work? The Keyword here is "INTENT"

nah i don't think that you can get sued if anything tel that women to by her daughter decent clothing i mean what on earth does she think guys are looking AT? if she can;t handle a picture then what is the daughter doing like that in public?

Her mother is being nasty to you for "who knows what reason." You did nothing wrong. She can't sue you and she can't charge you with anything. I would stay away from these fruitcake relatives if I were you.
