Ben Franklin was old when he died. He is not considered old now, just dead. He did not get his picture on the money until way after he died. So you still have a chance to get your face on the $100 bill; it will just be a while.

Don't know about changing the $100, I like what's on it...but you're right! Ben Franklin DID get old, especially for the eighteenth century...the dictionary said he lived from 1706-90, which means he was 84 yrs, right? and he sure never hit idle!
