Hello! I am the co-owner of a Prenatal Ultrasound Studio, and it is something that I think you will enjoy. The machine may not be the same, but it just depends on where you go. The difference b/n 3d and 4d is that 4d shows real time, and by that i mean showing the baby moving, stetching and yawning, not to mention you get to see exactly whom your baby looks like! It's so amazing. It is safe, no matter how many people tell you to think twice about it. There have been no proven studies that show negative effects of ultrasound use. For additional information about the safety of ultrasounds visit www.webmd.com for varification, if you must.

From a personal experience, i can tell you I had several(more than 5) 4D ultrasounds, and countless others, and my baby came out perfectly healthy, and she is right on target deveopmentally, maybe even ahead! I will never forget the first time I saw her on the 4d ultrasound monitor, she opened her eyes! It was awesome.

The price, depends on where you go. There are different package deals depends on what you want, and many options. The setting is different in each individual place. It's usually not in a medical setting, because THIS IS NOT A MEDICAL PROCEDURE AND DOES NOT TAKE THE PLACE OF ULTRASOUNDS GIVEN BY YOUR DR. IT IS STRICTLY FOR ENTERTAINMENT! Most settings are very serene and relaxing, you can even bring your family. our ultrsound room uses a 50 inch high definition tv show you your babies pictures! I hope this helps!

Well, I really lucked out on this one. My hospital just got the 4d machine in the previous week and were offering ultrasounds at no additional cost to me or my insurance. If you can I would highly recommend it. We knew exactly who my son looked like and we watched him suck his finger. It was soooo cute. I even got to take home a few CDs of my ultrasound and I was able to put it on my computer and email the pics to family. So, yes if you have the opportunity- go for it you will not regret it.

Most hospitals don't offer 4d. My mom got a session for me as a gift from a spa that caters to preg women. The way they do it (the gelly stuff, the wand on the belly, the monitor is the same) but you can actually see your baby's face and stuff. If you a yellow pages or general search in you area for places that offer it, most have pic on thier sites. It cost about 100-150 for an hour long session, and we got a video and a cd rom of the session. I think it was well worth it.

no it isn't the same equipment. they can use it for regular ultrasounds but not usually. most smaller hospitals don't have them. its usually places that only do that. it is more of a just for fun thing the only reason you would get one for medical reasons is if something was wrong so be glad you haven't. you will have to pay for it to get it I'm gonna give you a link that has listings of places that do it all over. i got that done with my son it was so cool! it was a place that does it just for fun it has like theater seating for about 15 ppl they do heath check also but its mostly just for fun. also the place i went guaranties the gender or they will pay for all the nursery furniture from a very nice place.

Actually alot of doctors offices do not have the 4D equipment. I live in north carolina and I had to go to Duke University to get this done, which is a very high tech hospital.

not every dr has the 4d ultrasound. Most of the time you have to go to a "boutique" to get it done, and pay alot!!!

You will have to request it yes and yes you will have to pay inless the dr orderes it, because your insurance wont cover it. If you go to a place that specializes in it, you get a cool dvd and alot of print outs to go with it. Mine cost me about 140 but was so very worth it. good luck...best time to get one is after 25 weeks, try about 28 that should be the absolut best time to get one. good luck!
