you can browser that internet like you do with a computer
you can send messages to other blackberry people without having to give out your number
you can create and change your own themes
you can use the newer models (i know the Pearl) as a modem for our computer and it is pretty fast.
You can read your email
you can receive emails with attachments
you can receive corp. emails
(for Student) it is a easy way to cheat on a test

You can download and use telenav (with a gps puck or alone if you have the 8800). Telenav gives you driving directions, can find restaurants by cuisine, the cheapest gas, and all sorts of other cool stuff.
