I have been called crazy or weird for most of my life. I dress like anyone else, I shower regularly, keep my house clean, and am pretty much normal except for, apparently, they way I think, or the way I speak, the ideas I have. I am curious. I wonder, since most of us are regulars to the philosophy section, perhaps we have something in common. Have you ever been called crazy, or weird? Why do you think that is?

I'm called crazy on a daily basis by my closest friends. It's great to entertain people by speaking out your most random thoughts and ideas. If we settle for being normal how can we expect to achieve our dreams? Impossibilities are broken when people believe in crazy ideas. Many a science-fiction idea has sparked the motivation for some crazy person to make the concept a reality.

We're called crazy because we can envision what's not yet there. We can see concepts as finished projects. We read what the writer can't say. We reflect on concepts because we love the challenge of finding a way to make the impossibility possible regardless of any practical application.

We are dreamers in a world that has given up on dreams. When a person gives up on their hopes and dreams, they want to believe that it isn't possible to achieve that dream. They don't want to hear that they gave up too quickly or that someone they know has a chance to reach that same dream.

I find that my friends enjoy the endless possibilities, the dreams and the hope that crazy ideas can bring. Why would anyone want to be normal when they can be much happier and make others happier by living in a way that others deem is crazy? I for one choose to embrace the crazy ideas that can change reality rather than settling for the practicality of a life less than hoped for.

Ask around if there is anybody who's never been called crazy. I am sure that if there is ever that someone, he always feels like he does not exist. I am sure he's been disappearing all the time into thin air. Mr. Cellophane is his nickname. Predictable and see-though. You walk past by him and you don't notice he is there.

Everyone's been tagged as crazy at some point in his life. It is because everyone is unique. There is always that something about each one of us, that the rest will not understand because they don't have it.

When you're called crazy, just say thank you! It means you exist. It means you are unique. It means you are being you and not being someone else.

We are all crazy to differing degrees. A person we usually call "crazy" who is "certifiable", usually is because of the intensity and frequency with which they do things. For example many people pick their noses. But if you have to pick your nose twenty times before going to bed then you have OCD and are what many people.refer to as "crazy." In my opinion we all are a little OCD. I often am paranoid about whether or not I have locked the house or my car and check a few times to be sure.

Yes, crazy, unique, "different", a freakin' weirdo. It's all bullocks man! These people dishing out the serious 'your-crazies' are too tightly-wound. Pretentious hypocrites. I mean, what is normal? Aren't we all individuals but different cuts of the same thing? These people are just aspiring to a moral standard they wish they fit into, but don't, deep-down...or, they just don't know where they fit it, but want to live up to some abstract "normal" fallacy. Probably also an attempt at 'leveling'; they're trying to bring ya down to the level they perceive they are at, but don't wish to be.

If you refer to people that dish out the NON-serious 'your crazies', then probably just a compliment. Kind of a benevolent comment, I think. In conservative language "you're crazy, man=you're so cool, man, I wanna be like you". Yeah, something like that.

I'm crazy, you're crazy, we're all freakin' crazy! Ya git me? Hey, wait a minute, did you just hear that evil voice...OH HELP ME, JEBUS!!!!!!.

Your question belongs in the Psychology section.. Philosophically, based on your question...you say before you think....the mouth runs faster than the brain does. Train the brain while shutting the mouth and you may be OK.

Sure. Especially the religious persons.

A weird atheist demon I believe.

Crazy, just like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. IMHO.

So you know. Big deal what other people think or see or think they see. Open minds are hard to reconcile with 'life' as we try to live it.
