I should add that a close family member of mine was recently hit on the highway- had extensive damage to her car and has no injuries what so ever.

I would imagine that you could create whiplash at as low a speed as 1mph if the other party was totally unbraced and not expecting a collision. It would be perhaps a little far flung, but still really anything is possible.

7 years ago I've been involved in a car wreck and even since suffered with severe on and off facial and jaw pain. YES. a cheerleader got whiplash what she cause herself just by jerking her head back quickly. Later had to had a neck brace put on her.

Anything is possible. I got a neck injury while brushing my teeth once. True story. It just locked up as I was mid-stroke. It was diagnosed as wry neck, a.k.a. torticollis.

you can be going 5 mph and get whiplash...at least thats what my lawyer says...no all kidding aside it doesnt take much

yea its just how the person was seated and all kinds of factors come into play, if your in a seatbelt or not, the angle etc.
