I was making brownies and the glass pan sliped onto the part of my arm in between the wrist and the elbow in the inner part. It was a few days ago. I have a son and when I hold him it rubs it and hurts really bad, the skin is breaking. The burn was 2nd degree about 1 inch by 2 inches long. Can I cover it and will it still heal right if it is covered up? The blister already popped. It is really red and you can see the skin under the white skin. I don't know what i can do. It is not infected though.

Neosporin + Bandaid = No Scar
When I had a second degree burn from a hot glue gun I immediately put Neosporin on it and I barely have a noticeable scar today. The bandaid helps to keep a scab from forming which can result in a scar.

The skin that was injured in the burn is going to peel away. You can buy some bandages especially for burns and they feel great. They will also help with the rubbing. Don't worry about the seeing the white skin. It is raw. Just be sure to keep it clean so it does not get infected. Change your bandage at least once a day.

I would say to wash it --with soap-- and yes, it will hurt....and then put some neosporin and gauze on it. Change the dressing regularly and don't hold your son on that arm! I would also say to sleep with the bandage off. Let it get some air to allow it to heal.

It sounds like you should have that covered anyway. I would throw some gauze around it and just change it daily or as needed if it falls off or you go swimming or something like that.

I like anti-biotic salve with a guaze cover over it. Change it daily or more if it gets wet. Don't pick at it.
