Where is the best (aka, cheapest) place to buy heat-proof spray paint to paint the pipe on a woodstove?

use bbq spray paint from the hardware store.

You are going to have to hunt a bit to find it and cheapest may depend on the price of gas. In any case, you are asking for engine paint which comes in various colors and says clearly that it is high temp. There is also an extra high temp which comes in only a few colors like grey, white and black which is intended for hot pipes including exhaust pipes. You might also ask at auto supply stores.

Good luck finding a paint that will stand up to the heat. Stove polish rubs on, and may be your best bet.

Wal Mart carries it just look for stove paint or BBQ paint.
Also any hardware store should carry it.
