Before a proper answer can be given, I would need more facts. First, Where did you view this information? Assuming you went Start-Control Panel-System (most people do), it tells how much RAM your computer has. There is nothing wrong with your system. For starters, the Computer counts by the binary system, and not the one we use, the the numbers are always off. Second, sometimes Ram is dedicated toward various parts in your computer, such as Processors, an old pat in your OS ( I forgot what it was called), and intergrated graphics cards. IN short, your computer is fine, everybody's is like that.

The RAM on a PC isn't always perfect. Often times it will have lower than the package number. This could be a confusion over Megabytes issue, where it may be packaged as MB referring to 1000kb, or the more technical 1024kb, it could be an issue of cheaply made or malfunctioning RAM sectors, it could be an issue with your BIOS not supporting all RAM (unlikely, but it's possible).
My old PC has 256MB of RAM, but it only shows up as 255MB, I know that's not much difference, but it shows that the PC may not detect the listed size.

Nothing. Ur lucky 2 have 504. Most only get 492 or less. At least 16-32 Mb is dedicated to the CPU.

Nothing is wrong.
Your video memory may be shared with your RAM and maybe using/sharing 8MB. Also sometimes Windows reports slightly different amounts of RAM...this does not mean or ram is not working, it just means those MB are being allocated for somthing else.

hai friend
Its nothing to worry about it.It say as 504 for 512 mb ram because it would take 8 mb ram for 3d card support. That is it would be useful for playing games for u.games would be fast.Even i have 512 mb ram.But my system used to show me that my ram is 448 mb ram.So nothing to worry about it.But actually urs and mine is 512 mb ram only.
bye and have fun.........

All I can think of is that some part of your computer is using up 8mb of RAM for system processes. I'm not sure.
