At 12 you should not need birth control!! If you are having problems with your period you should see a doctor. My one friend got on birth control very young because her periods were very bad. If you just want it to stop pregnancy you should not be having intercourse! You are too young!!

12 1/2 is too young to have sex. Please wait until you are at least 17 or 18. There is so many disease out there. Not to mention, the possibility of becoming pregnant. A female that begins having sex, so early is bound to have a lot of problems, not to mention 15 or more sexual partners in her life, which increase the possibility of cervical cancer and other problems. You need to wait. If a guy is not willing to wait for you, he really does not care anything about you, no matter what he says now, all he wants you for is to have a conquest. It does not matter who you are, you are anybody, all he wants is a conquest. After he uses you, he is gone. Not to mention he will tell everyone that you are open for business.
I will need you to gather up all your self respect, and give this guy his walking papers. Find something else to do withyour time than enetertaining boys.

First off, you should not be having sex at 12, it is illegal, second in most states you cannot obtain birth control with out a parent or guardians consent, which at your age would equal child neglect charges against your parents. If you do have sex at your age, any boy with you will be charged as a sex offender. On top of that why would you want to risk contracting HIV or some other STD/STI at your age. You might want to think this over a bit more, and wait until you are of a legal age to consent to sexual activity.

ok... well at 12 i think ur a little young to be worrying about sex. and im not talking down to you or anything, but im 14 and i've been there. i went out with an older guy and fell for the whole i love you thing. afterwards i felt dirty and regreted it, plus we broke up 2 days after. seriously, you dont want to do this!!!! and im not sayin this because ur just too young to handle a baby or something, but have respect for yourself. save it for when you know you love the person and you are more mature. its good that you're trying to be safe, but you need to stop. now if this birth control is because you get really bad cramps or something and to stop ur periods, then you should tell your mom. but please, make good decisions and take care of yourself. i hope you think about what i wrote, i dont know you, but i care about you. do the right thing

I'm not one to preach, but my daughter is 12. This question scares the bejesus out of me!
You are a child, my dear. Please, don't even consider having sex at your age. Can you imagine trying to raise a baby right now? You're in what, seventh grade? Think about your future before you take any such steps. Sex is not something to take lightly and unless you are ready to accept the possible consequences, you shouldn't even be thinking about it!
It breaks my heart to know that children your age are seriously considering having sex.
Whenever you decide, be it now or several years in the future - be safe. Use a condom, every time!

I believe that planned parenthood will give it to you. You can always call and ask if their is an age limit. But you're only 12 you shouldn't even be thinking about that sort of thing yet. (But thank you for being responsible about BC) But really think about sex before you do it. You have your whole life for that. Enjoy being a kid while you can

The age you can use birth control is often regulated by the state that you reside in...if you are going to have sex, and 12 years old is too young, then you should not only use the pill but a condom also....you have to protect yourself from disease as well as pregnancy...be smart about this decision and, while I am not tryng to preach at you, don't so anything you can't undo later...

It probably varies depending on where you live.
BUT
No-one at that age should be indulging in sexual intercourse.
They may be sexually mature but are not mentally mature enough to deal with the concequences.
And any method of birth control can fail, so if you are not ready to deal with a possible pregnancy and either birth or abortion, wait until you are older!

no you wont be able to get the pill without anyone knowing. Maybe if you talked to your mom and went to see a doctor he could possibly give it to you, but talk to your mom first. I know it might be hard but you're going to have to tell someone sometime.

planned parenthood does have confidentiality rules about it, but i'm not sure if they have an age restriction. you can just look up your local planned parenthood chapter and call and ask them without giving them your name or anything. although you really are young to be needing it, you're better off being safe.
