Use compound and preferrably a highspeeed buffer, but a sock will work too. Work the scratch with the compound, then go over it with any wax and it should nearly disappear as long as the scratch is on the clearcoat. If its past that, like your car was keyed, then go to your dealer and buy a paint pen that matches your cars color. Put the paint only over the scratch. Then I would sand the area and surrounding inch or so with 1500 grit wet sandpaper until its dull, then compound and wax.

Find some Mequiar's Scratch-X at an autoparts store. Use it to buff out the scratch. Then get a quality polish and then finish it off with carnuba wax. If the scratch is too deep then there is probably not much you can do.

if you cant feel the scratch you may be lucky enough to wax it. wax the area 4 or 5 times and that may help. if you can feel the scratch lightly you might wanna try buffing it but be carefull not to burn the paint... if you can see metal in the scratch the best thing to do is have it painted, but a quick fix is touchup paint you can buy at walmart or autozone

You can buff it, but unless you know what you are doing, get a professional. A good buffer is almost like a sander and it will eat through the paint very quickly.
