Use a concealer on the blemishes, before you put on the foundation. Be sure both concealer and foundation are the right shade for your complexion. Sometimes a heavier foundation can make your face look flawless, but if you're using Clinique, I'm not sure if they have one like that. Check at the Clinique counter at your local department store. The clerks are very knowledgeable about their products, and can help you select just what you need. Good luck!

I use Clinique to and I have found that it goes on much smoother with a foundation brush (assuming you mean liquid foundation). Clinique do one which is good but quite expensive. They say that the better the price the better the quality but I don't think this is always true.

To cover blemishes, remember that less is more. It's tempting to slap it on but this makes the blemish worse and more obvious. A little tip would be to put a small dab of moisturizer on before applying concealer. If you still want to use Clinique then I would recommend their Moisture Surge Extra as it's very cooling.

Good luck!

I also use Clinique products but before I put on my foundation I use old fashioned Johnson's baby lotion on my face. It moisturizes my skin and makes my foundation glide on so smooth and evenly. Because I have a "foundation" for my foundation it also effortlessly covers any blemishes and makes my skin look flawless.

I have used the matte mousse foundation that was mentioned in an earlier answer and I hated it. It caked on my skin no matter how I applied it and it never looked blended on my face.

Mixing your liquid foundation with lotion is not a good idea because it will alter the color of your foundation. I wouldn't recommend it.

Only use it where you need and where you don't let your own skin shine through, be sure to blend so it doesn't look cakey.

use one of those cosmetic sponges like in the triangle shape it helps the foundation go on sheer, smooth and covers up eveything!

i know, you mix your foundation with some face moisturiser or just lotion and you rub it into your face. and the foundation absorbs into your face and stays on great. and you dont have to worry if it smuges during the day.
