Question

1) find the magnitude of the magnetic force on a proton moving with velocity 4.46 Mm/s in the positive x direction in a magnetic field of 1.85 T in the positive z direction. Answer in units of pN.

I got 9.33495 x10^-34, but im not sure if I am correct.

F = q*v*B since speed is perpendicular to field direction

F = 1.6*10^-19 Coul*4.46*10^6 m/s*1.85 T

= 1.32 x 10^-12 Nt = 1.32 pN
