For some it may be mainstream news stations, newspapers, television, etc... some may also claim certain individuals from past to present.

I'm not going to give a choice of answers since it may inhibit others from answering, but I am curious to know one thing.

What or who has caused you to be of the "political nature" that you are?

Third parties are encouraged to answer, also.

George W. Bush, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and a host of conservatives including many who post on Y/A

They convince me that I am correct in backing the Democratic party.

The election of 2000 in which John McCain was smeared by the Bush campaign was the biggest influence on me. It showed me I had no business supporting the Republican party anymore

When I was younger, school, peers, and religious beliefs dictated my political beliefs. But as I go on in life, life experience, getting to know different people, and gaining knowledge influences my political stance.

I can't say my parents, as they are both Democrats and I'm a Republican.

But neither of us is in great odds over it, we talk about things and laugh at ourselves and each other when the topic is too hot!

Seeing things that are not the free America that we all thought it was. people denied their rights under the Law and seeing how the USA has changed and not for the better.
Being involved and watching the system or how screwed up it really is. When people are being done wrong and you try to get things changed for the better. I had a real eye opening experience.

On a pragmatic level. No one. I examine the issues and the candidates and realize that the candidates make stupid promises they can't keep. Politicians will compromise on every issue; and nothing will change except we are all getting dumber by the day.

it's a fact that in political science THE number one influence of your political stance is your parents. then it's your level of education and income.

the higher the level of education, the more likely you are to be liberal.

The US Constitution. I learned it in grade school and I still think all the answers for government are contained therein.

My father.

He fought in three wars(WW II,Korea and Vietnam).

He taught me that conservatives are not be trusted,They wrap themselves in tha flag and their God for purely base,hypocritical reasons.

My parents. They told me not to always believe what politicians said/promised, because they're liars and they're corrupted. Damn they were right!

My faith in God and my respect for His laws. My political views are based on that.
