I think it should be up to you. I knew a kid that had 1 first name 4 middle names and 2 last names. It was crazy but the only ones people knew was the last names and the middle names. it's very rare that someone will blatenly ask you what your middle name is. If anything they want the innital. what i would do is put a - betwen your and your boyfriends las name to make it one.

You can have as many names as you want to have but remember there is only so much space on the birth certificate, and once the child gets in school they have to write their name first, middle and last. Also on many official documents they have to list their full name, again there is only so much space. Why not give this child one of the middle names you like, then the next one the next name and so on.

I think that's too many. You would need to decide how to fill out forms for middle name and last name. Would the last name be hyphenated together? Then you would have 4 names instead of 5.

i think its too long. i have 3 names - two last names and a first name, my parents ignored the middle name thing. but i still cannot stand having to write it all down (and it happens quite a lot) so stick to one middle name is YOU MUST, or just the last name with no middle name.

YES!!!

I'd narrow it down to just three names. that's enopugh for anyone. Think of practicality! There is not that much space on official forms for all of those names! Choose your favorites. Stick with one last name. Eliminate the confusion.

Another idea: Eliminate the middle names altogether and use your last name as a middle name, and his last name as the last name, or vice-versa.

Both of my kids have a first name, two middle names and one last name. My son who is 17 has never had a problem with it. I think if I would have had given them mine and their dad's last name together, I would just have given them one middle name.

Yes it is, a first name 1 middle name your boyfriends name and then yours is plenty, why 2 middles with all that? Talk about getting teased in school, make it easier on him.

Yes. Computers allow a first name, a middle initial, and a last name.

If you name your kid John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt-Tralala, most of the names will fade away, anyway. You will just create problems.
