The University of Maryland maintains the Global Terrorism Database.

Today I looked at those numbers in many different ways and was shocked at what I found? Many of you will call it propaganda and lies. I can't help you, but today was such a 'bad day' in Iraq that the news is reporting about the political crisis where Sunni Iraqi ministers have decided to do their jobs but not attend cabinet meetings.

The numbers are similar news that isn't getting reported. 98-04 demonstrates a worldwide decline in terrorism, with an increase in attacks killing more people at a time and a concentration of attacks against our allies and in the "hot spots."

Don't believe me? I have the link to the databases on my blog. Crunch the numbers yourself and see if you can come up with ANY way to refute the data.

LeeAnne: Thank you for the compliments. Aside from that you are mostly correct.

Take a look at my "From the mouths of protestors" series and you'll see many truly hate the troops. I have no mercy on those that spout libelous slanderous lies about me and my brothers.

In other words, while many Americans are merely misled by the media, some are truly hateful.

The fact that so many terrorist attacks by the left wing (and so few by the right) were conducted surprised me immensely. I have long been led to believe the right wing was much more violent even if I knew the left was also so.

Amazingly the answers tonight are devoid of the anti-war types. Are they afraid of the numbers? Or are the other reports correct today? That the public has turned against the anti war crowd!

The enemy is real. The threat is real. Success will take decades and cost trillions. Defeat will last lifetimes and the cost will be devasting. This isn't a football game with time limits and a set number of overtimes, nor does the enemy play by the rules!

Thanks Bekki.
It amazes me that many expect a quick victory or demand to know "how long it will take."
And think back to when we started and we still had enormous support and people cheering at a bar exactly as they would a football game. Even their comments to the camera were the same.
Now, with a 100,000 wins to 3600 loses, we are ignored and degraded as if we had a losing record.
Our generals, like a coach of a losing team, is dismissed when he speaks.
Our soldiers, like players of a losing team are dismissed as braggards.

So I have come here with my blog to expose some of those 100,000 wins on a daily basis as we go forward.

Excellent blog - well researched and well written.
It pretty much outlines what I truly believe a lot of Americans already know - we cannot allow this ideology of hatred and domination to fester and grow any longer.
I believe the "anti-war at any cost" activists in this country are deluding themselves and enabling the enemy. I don't honestly think they realize just how dangerous their public protests are - I believe they feel they are helping our cause and getting all of our troops back home will somehow solve everything.
In my opinion, they are wrong - dead wrong.
