Do a Reverse Phone Number search with that specific phone number & see if anything comes up...

A land line is one attached to a property. A cell phone is a roving device that has a billing address of course, but is not part of a house or business. If someone leaves a message to get in touch (and that's it) it may very well be an advertisement or a scam. It's not your mama.

A land line is a line that is not a cell phone number. Basically, it is a number that can't be carried around in someone's pocket.

You have land line, cable line and air line.
Land line is the telephone companies phone line that is under ground and connects directly to your phone.
Cable line is the cable TV that goes to your TV but is changed to phone line through a modem box connected to your phone.
Air line is any phone that can transmitt a singnal to a receiving tower and transmitting that signal to the phone company intern transmitts a signal to another receiving phone.
As far as the conversation thats something you will have to investigate your self.
