I know some top ones are Bullitt, Blues Brothers, Deathproof, Smokey and the Bandit... But what is YOUR favorite car chase, and why?

Mine is Deathproof. With the chick on the hood, it made for an incredible chase.

Overall, I think Bulitt has the best car chase. You can't hardley beat the hills of San Francisco as a setting for this.

I'd also like to recommend a sequence from a 70's era film with Roy Scheider called "The Seven Ups." There was an unplanned stunt in which a car rear ends a semi trailer rig at speed and completely peels back the roof of the car. This has been seen plenty of times in later films, but this is the FIRST, as far as I know. An interview, later, with the cast tells us that this was unplanned. The stunt driver simply lost control in a turn. Luckily, he ducked to one side and was spared decapitation.
