when i first shaved i was so nervous.
i was so scared that i literally sat on the bathroom floor with a razor, bucket of water & shaving cream with my clothes on so my mom could watch & help me.
thats really not necessary, just shave, use shaving cream and dont use an old razor & put lotion on when ur done.
be careful, but if u get a cut (ive been shaving for 4 years & have only had a few ever, so you probably wont especially bc i get them if im in a rush) dont freak out, youll be fine, they dont hurt that bad.

I was only 13 when I first shaved my legs. I borrowed my dad's razor and shaving cream, but he never noticed or said anything. LOL! First of all, use a new blade. It's the sharpest, and contrary to what you might think, you're less apt to cut yourself with a sharp blade, than with a dull one. Use plenty of lather. The jury is out on whether to shave in an upward or downward direction. You get a slightly closer shave going up from the ankle to the knee, but when the hair grows back, you may wind up with more stubble. The best time to shave is in the tub when you're taking a bath. The warm water helps to soften the hair. Never shave dry or with just water. Use a light touch with a steady hand, and don't keep going over the same spot, or you can cut yourself or get razor burn. It does take a little practice, but soon you'll get the hang of it and shave like a pro. There are other ways to rid the legs of hair that are less scary. You can use those hair removers with a device that looks like a razor, but just takes the remover off, along with the hairs. Those take longer (about three minutes to work) and are messy. Some have a bad odor to them. Or you can use an electric razor, but won't get as close a shave.
Hope these tips will help. Good luck!

If you can do it in the bathtub ~ gives yuor legs a chance to soften - soap up the lather on one leg at a time. Use a sharp razor, go slow, always against the grain (up your leg - NOT cross-wise) and long steady strokes. Around your knees, hold skin taught so it does't wrinkle (or you'll cut yourself). Watch around your ankle and any other bones that stick out as the skin is thin and you may cut yourself.
Lather up the second leg and do the same.
You can go back over any area that still feels stubbles.
Just be careful ~ you will feel your way. Don't go fast.

make sure ure blade as sharp and ure using a good think shaving foam at first. GO SLOW and do it in the shower when ure skin is soft and ure skin will buckle under the blade and not get cut as easily. remember to either put baby oil or a lotion on after to keep it from getting itchy. after u get more experienced u can pick up the speed and use well lathered soap instead of foam, but give it time or ull cut ureself

Go slow.
Be VERY careful on your knees and near your ankles.
Try using hair conditioner the first time, instead of shaving cream, as you can see what you're doing more easily, and it makes the hair easier to shave off.

NEVER shave without water or some short of shaving gel. You'll cut yourself. Also, it's a little easier to do it out of the shower so you can make sure you didn't miss any hairs. Also remember to put on a lotion after so your skin doesn't get dry or itchy.

Yeah...say NO to soap and water. Use a shaving cream instead, even if it has to be your dad's. LIGHT layer, don't cake it on. Use long and slow strokes, and rinse the razor often. Shave horizontally around the ankles and knees, don't go vertically or you'll cut yourself.

Go slow - use a new razor - use shaving cream or a liquid type soap to moisturize the legs - rinse your razor often - good luck!

shaving cream. this kind of helps for your first time but try shaving down your leg, like from the knee to your ankle.
