how come all the old people I know are mean and curse at me and hit me with their sticks?

In my experience, there seems to be two kinds of old people. The really mean and bitter ones and the really nice ones. Seems very few in between.

I think when you're old, it's very hard to change how you've been your whole life. You get stuck with the kind of person you've decided to be.

Growing old gracefully is the key. Growing old gives you better judgment about decisions, it makes you care less what other people think. When you get really old, like some of the people in my family, you can say whatever you feel like and people look at each other sand say "you know how those 90 year olds are"

The trick is to start preparing for old age before you get there. Stop smoking, drink less, and exercise, save money.
You should work on your health so you're not stooped over and crippled. My Mom is in her eighties and WOW is she crabby. They get crabby from pain, when you're in pain all the time, it gets bad.

So plan financially and physically and you'll be one of the happy old folks, you see on so many insurance commercials

Only if your not happy and I your really sick and can't get around and do things !! And People do change with age no matter what some will tell you ! Some who are nice when they were young can turn out to be mean and hateful when they get old and sick !!! And some who were very mean when young can turn out to be sweet when they get old !! so you can change !! I think the older we get the less we care about what others may think, so we do or say what we want too !!!!

I don't know; I was born in 1952 and even though I have a few minor medical problems; I'm still enjoying life very much. As far as hitting you with a stick, did you deserve it by insulting the old people?

Growing old may suck, but not growing old sucks worse. You don't sound like an innocent victim. Have you learned anything after your beatings

Maybe because you're an annoying little bugger!
Does growing old suck? Consider the alternative.
You don't quit riding (motorcycles) because you grow old, you grow old because you quit riding.

Only if your tired of living. Commit a random act of kindness. Do something nice for one of them. You'll be old some day.

They're jealous of you. Growing old sucks big time and I'm still a teenager.
