Don't thiink of it as an "amount". The an object near the earth has a gravitational potential energy due to the earth's gravity which is given by:

U = -GM/r where G= Newton's Gravitational constant, M = mass of the earth, and r = bject's distance from the center f the earth (assumed r >= radius of the earth)

If the object has a mass, m, then it feels a force due to the earth's gravitational potential of:

F = GMm/r^2

Note that the force falls off like 1/r^2 so as you move away from earth, you rapidly experience less force on you due to gravity.

Hope this is what you're looking for.

About 5.9742 × 10^24 kilograms.
The ACCELERATION of gravity, at the surface, is about 9.8 meters per second per second, downwards.

The FORCE on an object is the acceleration times the mass of the object.

total potential gravitation has never been solved to my knowledge, periodic gravitational force can be looked up easily.
